Q:Can cat 6 cable be exposed outside? Does it need to be in conduit. I need to do 4 runs of 200 ft to cameras at a storage facility and would like to just let the wire sit on the roofs.

A:Hello! Your cable does not necessarily need to be in conduit, but it does need to be outdoor cable, to protect from moisture and UV light. If the cable is attached to the building so that there is no movement of air around the cable, you can use unshielded cable. Otherwise, static electricity can build up, and you would need shielded cable to protect from static discharge.
